pre-loved.

over the weekend my lil fashionita ariella & i ventured onto the subway to bloor street west in search of pre-loved clothing and accessories. the sun was shining, the air was fresh, my pack of belmonts was full .. and we couldn't of been in better moods. we started our journey at value village, continued to vintage depot, 69 vintage, haus, salvation army, and lastly one of my personal favourites captain's treasures. the stores are all located within a few blocks from each other, & each store has different styles and awesome secondhand pieces. the captain's treasures was filled with one of a kind jewelry, furniture, camera's and all different little trinkets. i picked up two gorgous gem rings for 10 bucks a pop. at vinatge depot i found a cute watch for $4.99 and an army coloured, worn in zoo york tee. the cheapest of the stores being vv & salvation army always require the most time and some would say patience, because you must hunt around for the best peices. i found two pretty wild, animal print dresses for $7.99 each. 69 vintage and haus have a more chic feel, filled with freshly handpicked pieces. i instantly fell in love with all the cute oxford shoes and cowboy boots, & will defiantly be back to pick up a pair next pay cheque!

the highlight of our day had to be after trying on a multiple pairs of cheap monday jeans at haus, we started chatting with one of the young owners named rachel. haus showcases local talent and finds alot of their great vintage pieces in brooklyn, new york. after purchasing a stunning gold chained purse, by the end of the conversation with rachel, ariella and i now have a spot in the their next "in haus" fashion show coming up may 29th !! details to come.

thrift hunting is amazing because half the fun is actually finding the one of the kind pieces, saving tons of money, you get to meet great friendly people and it's way more exciting then the local mall. the only downside? you leave kind of smelling like musty old grandma clothes .. so i'd suggest washing your new pieces before wearing them out on the town ;)
