victoria day long weeekend.

victoria day, or better known to us kids as may 24 weekend, is a federal canadian statutory holiday celebrated on the last monday before or on 24 may, in honour of queen victoria's birthday. also, known to us as .. it's a long weekend! get drunk & do fireworks! either works for me. though my may 24 weekend did get off to a rough start....

my family and i were supposed to take a lil trip to montreal. see the fam, eat, party. you know. well, that didn't happen. on the way, just about a hour outside of toronto. the car, which was by the way filled with four peices of luggage, food, shoes (mine, obvs) and boxes to help my grandfather move to his girlfriends house (really, & hes 80!!). anyways.. the car starts super loudly rummmmbeeeellllinnng, we get off the highway in the middle of nowhere land, and the whole car stops. 2 hours of waiting in the middle of the road for a toe truck, we made it home safely. unpacking was awfully depressing. but, shit happens. & at least we didn't get hurt right? oh and on the bright side, we get a new car now !

now back comfortably in my home after the rough start, tonight some friends and i are going downtown to celebrate the long weekend, and the queens birthday, of course. how are you spending your long weekend? live it up. enjoy!
